Seal Beach Pig Ban Passes, Bubba to Get Special Permit: The Seal Beach City Council on Tuesday passed a controversial ordinance change that bans pigs within city limits but also began the process to issue the city's only resident pig an exotic animal permit. The ordinance, which received initial approval from the City Council on Oct. 28, bans all types of pigs "regardless of size, kind or sex," including what has now become Seal Beach's most famous pet pig, Bubba.

Los Alamitos High School Opens New Athletic Complex [Photos]: Students, teachers and staff gathered Tuesday at Los Alamitos High School to dedicate the school's new athletic facilities. The new facilities, which include an all-weather track, new synthetic turf sports field and new lighting, were part of a $4 million renovation that both coaches and students said was long overdue.

Bar Employee Stabbed in Chest By Drunk Customer in Westminster: A Westminster bar employee stabbed early Tuesday while trying to eject a man for hassling two female customers was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, and his attacker was at large, police said. The Player's Lounge employee was stabbed twice in the chest about 1:30 a.m. at the bar at 7821 Westminster Blvd.

Track Seeks Expansion to Bring Thoroughbred Racing to Los Alamitos: Los Alamitos Race Track officials next month will present a plan to the Cypress City Council that would expand the race track to accommodate thoroughbred horse racing, Daily Racing Forum reported. According to DRF, Los Alamitos hopes to lengthen its track into a one-mile racecourse by expanding onto property once occupied by a golf course.

Seal Beach Chick-fil-a Opens for Business: After a few months of construction, the Seal Beach Chick-fil-a officially opened its doors in the Shops at Rossmoor Thursday morning. The new location began serving customers early in the morning and also gave away free chicken sandwiches for an entire year to 100 lucky customers who began lining up outside the restaurant on Wednesday morning.
