Here are five things to start off you day in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach:

  1. The Seal Beach City Council on Tuesday passed a controversial ordinance change that bans pigs within city limits but also began the process to issue the city's only resident pig an exotic animal permit. Read all about the packed meeting here
  2. Los Alamitos High School gathered at its new athletic complex Tuesday afternoon to officially dedicate its brand new track and field. Look for photos of the new field today on Patch
  3. Did you see that sunset last night? Low clouds provided for a spectacular sunset with many in Seal Beach grabbing their cameras and taking to the pier to capture the sky lit up in orange and pink. 
  4. The Los Alamitos Race Track is looking to expand in order to allow thoroughbred racing. The track will be extended to a one-mile track onto a former golf course. Read more here
