Seal Beach Police to Host Drug Take Back Day

Participants can anonymously drop off unwanted or unused prescription or over the counter drugs.

The Seal Beach Police Department will host a prescription drug take back day Saturday at the department's headquarters in Seal Beach.

During the event, police will accept unwanted prescription or over the counter drugs in a drive-thru style collection point in front of the police department.

Police said that the drop off location will be anonymous with no questions asked of anyone dropping off items.

No syringes or illegal controlled substances will be accepted and police encouraged participants to remove personal information labels from prescription bottles.

Seal Beach's prescription drug take back day, held in conjunction with the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, will take place Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday's event is the only drug take back day scheduled for Seal Beach.

Questions about the program can be directed to Seal Beach police Sgt. Phil Gonshak at 562-799-4100 ext. 1160.
