Founded in 1930, Orange County Fire Authority is located adjacent to Seal Beach City Hall and serves the Seal Beach area. It is home to one fire engine and a squad unit. Station 44 is staffed by a rotating group of three captains, three engineers and three firefighters. Reserve firefighters also serve the unit. It is also a safe-surrender site, where newborns can be abandoned legally.
