Week Ahead: Veterans Day, Pigs at City Council, Chick-fil-A Opens

Five things to start off your week in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach.

Here are five things to start off your week in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach:

  1. Monday is Veterans Day and a big thanks to all who serve from Patch. For military members, be sure to take advantage of some of the restaurants offering free food or discounts on Veterans Day. See the list here.
  2. The Seal Beach City Council will meet on Tuesday instead of its usual Monday meeting due to the Veterans Day holiday. On the agenda for Tuesday will be a final reading of an ordinance banning all types of pigs from the city. The ordinance has sparked debate in the community after it was realized it would affect one woman's pig, named Bubba, who lives in the city.
  3. The Seal Beach Chick-fil-A will finally open its doors for business on Thursday in the Shops at Rossmoor. The first 100 customers on Thursday will receive free chicken sandwiches for an entire year. Find out all the details here
  4. Devour, Seal Beach's restaurant week, begins on Tuesday and runs until Nov. 16. During the restaurant week, multiple Seal Beach restaurants will offer special menus and discounts on food. There will also be a chili cook-off on Saturday at Henessey's from 2-5 p.m.
