Week Ahead: 405 Toll Lanes, Winter Wonderland, Los Al Choir Performs

Here are five things to start off your week in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach:

  1. Proposed toll lanes on a stretch of the 405 Freeway through Los Alamitos and Seal Beach are again on the agenda Monday at the OCTA Regional Planning and Highways Committee meeting. The committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Orange County Transportation Authority Headquarters, 600 South Main Street, First Floor, Room 154 in Orange.
  2. The City of Los Alamitos will once again celebrate the holidays by trucking in 25 tons of snow to create a winter wonderland at The Plaza on Saturday, Dec. 7. Read more on the event here
  3. The award-winning Los Alamitos High School Choir program will perform “Home for the Holidays” Dec. 5-7.  Shows will start each evening at 7 p.m. with an additional Saturday matinee performance on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Shows will take place in the Margaret Webb Performing Arts Center on the campus of Los Alamitos High School, 3591 Cerritos Avenue.
  4. Is your child an academic star? Friday is the deadline for 7th and 8th grade school teams to sign up for the county-wide Academic Pentathlon. The program is sponsored by the Orange County Department of Education.
  5. Today is Cyber Monday and Patch wishes you luck with your online shopping. By some estimates, we’ll collectively spend $1.8 billion today.
