Slideshow: Winners of the 2012 Seal Beach Surfing Championships

AJ Collins Won the men's shortboard in this year's Seal Beach Surfing Championships, which raised $5,000 for the Seal Beach Victims Fund.

Special from the Seal Beach Lifeguard Association

Overall, we had a great weekend for the 2012 Seal Beach Surfing Championships.  The weather was solid all weekend and we had consistent 3 to 4-foot waves on Sunday for the finals.

A highlight for the weekend included AJ Collins winning the Men’s Shortboard final (which some consider the “Main Event”) in a close battle against Matt Munsterman and Seal Beach Lifeguards Matt Koeller and Tim Senneff. As the winner of this event, AJ will be on next year’s Contest t-shirt and posters.

The Seal Beach Lifeguard Association (SBLA) would like to thank all of the 2012 Seal Beach Surfing Championships sponsors and competitors. This year SBLA was able to donate $5,000 to the Seal Beach Victims Fund and couldn’t have done it without the community’s support.
