Watch: 6000 Help Make 2012 Run Seal Beach Biggest Yet

Saturday's race is expected to have raised more than ever for recreational programs and athletic grants for the community.

About 6,000 people helped make Saturday a record-setting day for the annual Run Seal Beach 5K/10K.

With hundreds more participating than in last year’s record-setting race, proceeds from this year’s race will easily surpass the $125,000 raised last year for community recreation and athletic programs, said Seth Eaker, a volunteer and organizer for Run Seal Beach.

From four-year-olds to Orange County Sheriff’s Academy recruits to sponsored running teams, runners pounded the pavement, completing the course in as little as about 13 minutes for the 5K run.
