Memorial Day Roundup

There are two Memorial Day ceremonies in Seal Beach this year.

Eisenhower Park Ceremony

  • What: Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by the American Legion Post 857 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4048, the event features taps, speakers, patriotic songs and the laying of a wreath.
  • Where: Eisenhower Park, Main Street and Ocean Blvd., Seal Beach
  • When: 1 p.m. Monday

World War II Submarine Memorial

  • What: Memorial Day Ceremony at the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station. The emotional and solemn ceremony features the "tolling of the boats" in which the bell tolls as the names of 52 submarines lost in World War II are read aloud as well as the fate of the crew. Red, white and blue carnations will be dropped into the reflecting pool by the spouses of submarine veterans
  • Where: The Naval Weapons Station, 800 Seal Beach Blvd
  • When: 11 am
