Free Summer Concert and Movie Series Kicks Off Saturday

The Los Alamitos series starts with a performance by MoZaiK and a showing of "Back to the Future."

Pack up the DeLorean. It’s time to go Back to the Future.

Saturday night is the first of three free summer concerts and movies at and the Joint Forces Training Base. The series kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a performance by the teenage hip hop foursome MoZaiK followed by a showing of “Back to the Future.”

The family fun event is hosted by the city and includes raffle prizes, children’s activities, and refreshments for sale.

The second concert and movie will still take place under the starts, but it will also be under the water. On July 28, the fun will shift to the pool at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. Families are encouraged to bring their floaties and pool tires at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a performance by Aloha Radio, a California Surf Rock band, followed by a showing of Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.”

The final performance of the series will be 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Laurel Park again. The 5 Star Band will play some blues, jazz and country followed by a showing of “Cars.”
