'Whale Wars’ Star to Talk Dolphin Slaughter on Patch Columnist’s Radio Program Today
Love him or hate him, Paul Watson is always provocative.
Paul Watson from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and star of Whale Wars on Animal Planet will talk about the Japanese slaughter of whales and dolphins on Patch columnist Philip Friedman's Outdoors Radio today from 9-10 p.m. You can tune in to AM 830 or listen live on the Internet by going to AM830.net.
The outspoken wildlife conservationist will be talking about the dolphin killings in Taji, Japan, and the upcoming season of Whale Wars, the Animal Planet show about his aggressive Antarctic campaign against the Japanese whaling fleet. Many have criticized Watson for the methods he employs in protecting whales and other marine creatures. Earlier this year, on Friedman's Outdoors Radio, rocker Ted Nugent vowed to kill 10 whales just to irritate Watson, who Nugent contends is attacking a legitimate fishing industry.
Among other questions Friedman intends to ask Watson is why the Japanese whale hunts seem to invoke so much more anger than the Norwegian hunt. Norway’s hunt just concluded and resulted in the deaths of more than 400 minke whales. It should be great radio, no matter how you feel about Watson.
