Wednesday Surf Report

More minimal surf on tap.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, mother nature just doesn't want to bring us much in the way of waves to this stretch of the coast.  So, unless you like it really small...do yourself a favor and head down south where there's much more rideable surf.

The conditions are nice and glassy from the start, with a mixture of mostly very minor south southwest swell and some tiny northwest energy in the background.

That recipe is making for some little gutless lines, with a few that'll get you going on a log or if you're a mini-grom that weighs less than 50 pounds.  Most Seal Beach breaks are running about ankle to knee high, with really not much more than that.

At 7:37 this morning the tide pushes up to a 5.4 high which isn't helping things either due to the lack of swell.  Many spots will be pretty inconsistent or even shut off early to mid morning.  Your best bet once that tide turns around and drops a bit eventually draining out to a negative 0.4 low at 2:18 this afternoon.

If you're really itching to get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 full or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.  Good luck out there!
