Tuesday Surf Report

It's worth doing a little driving.

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, once again this stretch of coast appears to be really blocked by the latest swell out there.  So, if you have the time...I suggest finding a more exposed south facing spot where there's a decent dose of energy in the water.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean and glassy, with a fair amount of mainly south southwesterly swell and not much northwest energy to speak of.  That recipe is only offering the Seal Beach area some tiny weak little waves, with maybe a few that'll get you going on a longboard.

Most spots in this neck of the woods are running about ankle high, with the standout spots north of the pier offering a few knee high plus waves.

Taking a look at those tides...at 7 this morning the tide climbs way up to a 5.4 high which won't help things either due to the lack of energy.  So you might want to wait for that tide to turn around a drop a bit.  It eventually drains out to a negative 0.5 low at 1:51 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temp hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water.

FYI...remember the County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain, especially near storm drains, river mouths and harbor entrances.
