Thursday Surf Report

Having difficulty waking up out there!

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, she's having somewhat of a difficult time coming to life in this neck of the woods.

Unfortunately, we're still seeing some pretty minimal size surf along this stretch of sand, so I suggest heading down south where you can pick off some more playful size waves. The conditions are fairly clean from the start, with a combination of energy in the water.

We're seeing mainly northwest wind and groundswell and some fairly weak south southwest energy in the background. That recipe is providing this area some pretty weak lines, with maybe a few that'll get you going with a longboard or an SUP!

Most Seal Beach spots are showing ankle to knee high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling a few bigger ones. At 6:53 this morning the tide pushed up to 4.8 high which will have some spots sort of shut down early on.  Your best bet...once that tide backs down a bit, but before it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 1:19 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, well that water is still fairly cold, so throw on a 4/3 full-suit and maybe the booties, with it averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
