Some of the nation’s top swimmers will hit the water in Seal Beach Saturday morning for the Seal Beach 43rd Annual Rough Water Swim.
More than 300 swimmers of all ages are expected to compete Saturday, including Olympian Chloe Sutton, said Maria Fattal, director of the rough water swim.
The morning begins with the men and women’s 5K swims, followed by the 1-mile race and a series 200 to 1200-yard swims for children ages 5-14. All youth swimmers will receive medals for their participation, and the three fastest swimmers in every category will medal.
All proceeds from the event go to support the Seal Beach Swim Club, which includes 170 athletes who train at the McGaugh and Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base pools.
Onsite registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. at the northwest side of the pier. The first race will begin at 8 a.m.
