Also ... any sports they should add?

I didn't know that BMX was an Olympic sport, but I came upon it accidentally and the competition was riveting. Legitimate racing, real spills and crashes, guys going 100 percent for the duration of each race. It was surprisingly awesome. I thought softball was a good fit for the Olympics as well, but going back in Olympic history, the concept of having a tug of war team is extremely cool.

Beach volleyball, women's competition. Go Misty May. But I'm sure this former Olympic sport would overtake it, right? Pigeon shooting.
It was cancelled after a year not because it was wrong but it was too much mess.

Eventing, by far! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to catch any of the cross-country rounds on TV. I like that even more than the stadium jumping.
I have to say that the semifinal match in women's soccer between the U.S. and Canada was RIVETING.

Water Polo! I followed them because of our local athletes and got hooked. I watched the women's OT semifinal against Australia in the waiting room at my mechanics and all the other customers were on the edge of their seats and yelling at the tv, and I don't think any of us actually followed water polo before.

I enjoy the wrestling events. Both men and women competitors train extremely hard, and you can tell they're putting it all on the line at the Olympics. And wrestling fans are some of the best fans in sports--they really cheer on their teams.

I agree, Martin, tug of war is awesome, everyone should experience it at least once.

I actually reported on water polo and swimming at Golden West College in HB when they dominated, and learned WP from zero. The two coaches who educated me--what is going ON under there??--are possibly still in Seal Beach, Tom Hamdorf and Ken Hermstead (think that is his spelling). They were politely incredulous that I won a state collegiate award for sports writing :D

Loved vb, soccer, BMX, water polo and basket ball. I feel the women were much better than the men in vb. The men just kept pounding the hits into the blocks and losing points. Their other big fault was the out of bounds serving. Wayyy to many.
I tell my classes that that is the many reasons for losses. You do not win with serves out of bounds. Take some speed off the ball to make sure it is in. The speed on the serve did not gain enough points to risk it. Also would like the many hours of rhythm exercise to be eliminated. Throwing balls and ribbons around is ridiculous. Great opening and closing ceremonies.

I voted for Beach Volleyball as the broadcast put it front and center throughout the two weeks and the Americans put on an exciting show of talent. But the BMX, Mountain Biking, Kayak Slalom and many more events ran a very close second in excitement. I just wish there was an opportunity to commit equal broadcast time to the lesser known events. Catching snippets here and there doesn't do them justice.

I liked the women's soccer. Where is it on the voting list?

Football = Soccer in every country but the USA.

Loved all the track events! How can humans run that fast? Didn't see it on the list. Also loved the women's water polo and gymnastic events.

For me its the gymnastics. Always a compelling story line with tons of pressure. This years was great because the women did such a great job.

Are you kidding? Every heard of Freedom of speech? There should be more like him. This country isRead More going to hell in a handbag quite fast. We are ruining this country for our children and leaving the biggest mess ever... Kudos to Snowden..... You gave up everything to be honest and tell it like it is!!!

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
