Monday Wave Check

Very quiet along this stretch of sand.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, we're seeing a decent dose of action in the water, but unfortunately this stretch of sand isn't getting much of the energy.  So, you'll definitely want to head south towards the Huntington area where there are plenty of playful size waves. The conditions are starting off nice and clean, with a combination of mostly south southwesterly energy and some smaller lingering west northwest swell in the water.  That recipe is offering some this area some weak little lines, with maybe a few loggable ones. Most Seal Beach spots are seeing ankle high waves, with the focal points pulling some knee high sets. At 6:16 this morning the tide climbed up to a 5.3 high which will have many breaks pretty full or even shut down early morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 0.5 low at 1:19 this afternoon. If you're planning on paddling throw on at least the 3/2 full-suit or a 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees. FYI: Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near river mouths, harbor entrances and storm drains.
