Los Alamitos Golfer Storms PGA Course Record

19-year-old Patrick Cantlay set course and PGA Tour Record.

Los Alamitos' Patrick Cantlay, 19, a week after being low amateur at the U.S. Open, set a course and PGA record at this week's tournament.

According to the Associated Press, Cantlay shot a course record of 10-under 60 at the Traveler’s Championship. It is the lowest amateur round in the history of the PGA Tour, and it gives him a four-stroke lead. He has two rounds remaining.

The Associated Press is reporting that an amateur hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since 1991 when Phil Mickelson did it. A victory would give Cantlay a spot on the tour if he wanted it.
