Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report. Well, I wish I could tell you that this stretch of sand was seeing some sizable surf, but unfortunately we're looking at more of the same small stuff. So, I suggest heading south where there are some playful size waves.
The conditions are starting off mostly clean this morning, with a pretty minor mix of energy out there. We've got mainly south southwest swell and very little northwest energy in the water. That recipe is making for some drained out dumpy lines, with not a lot to work with early on. The shape and consistency should improve once that tide fills-in.
Most Seal Beach spots are seeing knee high waves, with the breaks that pick up the most southerly exposure seeing some thigh high waves, with a few waist high sets.

Taking a look at the tides.... at 6:13 this morning it dropped to a negative 0.4 low which will have some spots desperate for water early to mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.2 high at 12:58 this afternoon.
If you're going to grab a session at some point during the day, throw on at least your 3/2 full-suit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature still on the cool side and hanging between 57 and 58 degrees. Good luck out there!
