Friday Wave Check

Do a little driving.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, the combination of swells is continuing to fade.  Unfortunately that's not good news for this stretch of sand.  Basically it's pretty small and weak, with only a few workable waves on a log.

The conditions are nice and clean from the start, with a mix of some dropping westerly energy and some minor remnant south southwest swell in the water.  That recipe is offering some fairly gutless little lines.

Most Seal Beach spots are running about ankle high, with the standout breaks pulling knee high waves, with maybe a couple plus sets.  Meanwhile a little further south you can find some fun size surf!

It looks like we're dealing with another mid-morning high tide that won't help things either due to the lack of swell in this area.  At 8:42 this morning it pushes up to a 5.1 high which will have many spots pretty full or even shut down for a while.  The tide eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 3:05 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, well the water temp feels like it may have dropped a little over the last few days, so break out the 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with it averaging between 55 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
