Free Triathlon Clinics for Race on the Base

The Annual Los Alamitos Race on the Base will take place on Feb. 25 on the runways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos.

Race on the Base events will include a Reverse Triathlon, Jr. Reverse Triathlon, 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk, 1K Kids Run, 10K Inline Skating and Wheelchair Race. 

All triathlon participants are invited to free race clinics featuring training tips and techniques from excellent guest trainers as well as vendor fairs featuring products and services. Each clinic runs from 9 to 11am, followed by activity/training from 11am to noon at Oak Middle School, 10821 Oak Street, Los Alamitos.

Triathlon Clinic Schedule:

• January 21st: (Bring your swimsuit)
  Swim technique, nutrition, mental prep, plus actual long course swim to follow at JFTB pool.

• February 4th: (Bring your running gear and bike)
  Run and bike techniques, stretching and injury prevention, fitness run and bike check.

• February 18th: (Bring your transition gear and bike)
  Transition basics and set-up, mental prep for race day, event logistics, and transition simulation.

The event also features a two-day vendor expo, helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course.

All participants and volunteers will receive a distinctive dri-fit shirt, finisher dog tag medals, plus free lunch for all racers from Johnny Rebs’ Roadhouse BBQ.
