Football: Los Alamitos Breaks Into Top 10 After Win Over Edison

A new team breaks into the top 10, and an old stalwart drops out. Trinity League continues to dominate, but in what order?

By Martin Henderson

After its victory over Mater Dei, Santa Margarita moved back up in the poll, giving the Trinity League four of the top 5 positions in the collective ranking of 10 members of the media.

However, the loss didn't impact Mater Dei; the Monarchs remained at No. 2 based on the circular nature of the nation's second-toughest league, according to Maxpreps: Mater Dei beat Servite, Servite beat Santa Margarita, Santa Margarita beat Mater Dei.

A week after losing to Newport Harbor, a victory by Los Alamitos over Edison propelled the Griffins into the top 10. Edison dropped out.

Below is the county Top 10 after Week 8, with first place counting for 10 points, second for nine, etc.).
