The remedy for a heartbreaking defeat in the Sunset League is a game against Marina—no offense intended, Vikings fans. And that’s what Los Alamitos got. The Griffins scored four touchdowns in the second quarter and cruised to its sixth victory in seven games.

Pivotal Moment: Rarely does a Sunset League game involving Marina hinge on one sequence. Los Alamitos answered the Vikings’ early score with Whitehead's touchdowns, and less than two minutes later Dashawn Gordon returned a punt 40 yards to make it 28-7. If there was any hope that the Vikings had something in the tank to compete, it evaporated with Gordon’s dash.
