Dashawn Gordon comes up big as the Griffins rally from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

Los Alamitos showed some mettle, overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Covina Charter Oak. Winning in the manner it did gave the Griffins their most impressive victory since beating Edison, 26-21, in the final Sunset League game of the 2010 season.

Pivotal Moment: Two touchdowns in the fourth quarter had given Los Alamitos a 21-17 lead, but it was still anyone’s game. That changed when DeMonte King recovered a fumble and took it 52 yards for a touchdown. The PAT was blocked but the Griffins had a 10-point lead and the game was in the hands of their defense, which is the team’s strength.
