Students of the Month: Annie and Megan Carpenter

The Rossmoor Women's Club awarded their March and April scholarships for student of the months to Los Al seniors Annie and Megan Carpenter.

The Rossmoor Women's Club has chosen a pair of impressive twins as the March and April students of the month, an honor that is rewarded with a scholarship.

Los Alamitos High School Seniors Annie and Megan Carpenter represent the clubs March and April Students of the Month.

Annie Carpenter is a senior a Los Alamitos High School. She has a cumulative 4.41 and is a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. She is also a president for the Spanish Honor Society. She was involved in cross-country for four years and track for two. This year she became involved in Xpressions„ the high school concert choir. She enjoys being a member o f the National Charity League, which she has been involved in for six years. She enjoys reading and writing (but not necessarily writing, about herself in the third person). She looks forward to attending a four-year university next year and majoring in English.

Megan Carpenter is in her senior year at Los Alamitos High School. She maintains a 4.73 GPA and is a National Merit Student. Megan was a member of the cross-country team for four years. She is a President of the Spanish Honor Society al LAHS and a member of National Charity League. Megan is also involved in the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. She plans to double-major in psychology and Spanish.

The Rossmoor Women's Club is open to all women whether or not the live in Rossmoor, and new members are always welcome.  Club activities include education, charitable projects, the annual Holiday Home Tour, and social activities.  The next general meeting will be held at Old Ranch Country Club at 10:45am on Wednesday May 9th.  If you are interesting in finding out more about the club or coming to a meeting, please visit the Club's website at http://rossmoorwomansclub
