The Los Alamitos High School linebacker and running back said he's ready to rumble against Huntington Beach High School.

Tonight, Los Alamitos High School football will face off against Huntington Beach High School.

… which is lucky because the varsity football player we profile today is really looking forward to that game.

Name: Kevin Small

City: Los Alamitos

Jersey Number: 22

Ht/Wt: 5 foot 6 six and 205 pounds. (Heigh and weight courtesy Maxpreps.com.)

Age: 16

Grade: Senior

Position: Linebacker, Running back

Favorite thing about football:  "I love hitting people, and I love putting them in the ground."

In the ground. So … dead? (He laughs) "No, no no. Not quite dead."

Favorite subject in school: Physical Education. “Because there’s no academic portion to it ... I’m pretty good at math."

Favorite food: "I’ve always liked spaghetti and meatballs."

What game are you looking forward to the most? "I want Huntington. Because last year, it didn’t end like it should have. We just kind of had a meltdown against ‘em, and I want another shot at ‘em."

Anybody you’re playing for? "I’m playing for my family because my family has a good reputation in football. I like keeping that up."

What’s one the hardest exercises that you’ve had to go through to get in shape for football?

"Well, probably the five minutes of up downs."

Whats that? "Basically run in place and hit (the ground on) your stomach and then pop back up to your feet. And we do it for five minutes straight. So it’s like a lot of work."

Anything else you want to say? "Go Los Al."

Here are the next two games, both starting at 7 p.m.
