Readers' Choice: Nominate Your Favorite Hot Dog

The hot dog: it's almost as American as apple pie. Patch is looking for your help finding the best hot dog in town.

Editor’s Note: The nomination period is closed as of July 9. The voting period will begin next week.

It’s the most modest of dishes, but it is distinctly American.

It’s the hot dog.

Chicago is famous for its loaded dogs, Detroit does it Coney Island style. Even the southwest has its own twist - bacon wrapped. It has a place of honor at summer barbecues and baseball games.

When done poorly, it’s still edible. When done right, it’s delicious and can transport you to ballparks and boardwalks.

In this reader’s choice, we honor the hot dog, and the people who do them right. Where can you get the best hot dog in all of Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach?

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re looking for your nominations for the best the town has to offer through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed, and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

So who serves the best hot dogs? Can anyone compete with Mustards, one of the region’s only restaurants to specialize in the Chicago-style hot dog?

Thanks in advance for your participation.
