Music in Los Al Schools is Alive and Well

Learn where our local school Jazz bands are performing.

Last Monday night, my wife and I attended the Oak Jazz Band and Combos at . We had heard Jason Padilla’s talented young musicians a short time ago and knew we would enjoy the great music while admiring their skills, never mind their youth. Some of these talented young musicians had the opportunity to compete for and win the chance to play at the Monterey Jazz Festival. What a great experience for them!

While we read so much about the arts missing from public schools, it is great to live here in this district and arts thriving here. From elementary, into middle and through high school, we have programs that develop, encourage and foster students to excel. We also have a tremendous group of instructors who genuinely enjoy what they do, are incredibly capable, and expect great things from our students. Those expectations allow our students to far exceed what most can even imagine.

Tuesday, May 1, the Los Alamitos High School Jazz Band will be bringing Jazz I, II, III and the Jazz Combo to Spaghettini Grill and Lounge, 3005 Old Ranch Parkway, Seal Beach at 6:30 p.m. I guarantee you will be glad you came, amazed by the talent, and proud of our school district.
