Want a Valentine's Day Marriage in Orange County? Better Make an Appointment

The county is extending its marriage ceremony hours on Feb. 14.

If you want to tie the knot on Valentine's Day, you really ought to make an appointment, according to County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen.

Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for civil marriages in Orange County. Last year the county performed 170 marriage ceremonies and issued 224 marriage certificates on Feb. 14. The all-time record for Valentine's Day marriage ceremonies, 173, was set in 1997.

To keep up with demand, the county is extending its hours that day for its three marriage locations in Laguna Hills, Santa Ana and Fullerton.

  • Laguna Hills Branch Office, 23141 Moulton Pkwy #2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Old County Courthouse, 211 W Santa Ana Blvd., Santa Ana: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Fullerton Branch, 1275 N Berkeley Ave., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
