Two Chances Coming up to Comment on Proposed 33-Acre Truck Stop

Cypress is preparing to draft a study on the environmental impacts of a distribution center/trucking terminal complex on the border of Los Alamitos.

Locals have two upcoming chances to comment on a proposed 33-acre truck stop in Cypress on the border with Los Alamitos.

Industrial developer Prologis plans to build a distribution center/trucking terminal complex at Katella Avenue and Enterprise Drive. However, most of the truck traffic would appear to impact Los Alamitos.

Cypress recently released notice that they were planning to draft an environmental impact study on the project, and city staff said residents have till April 2 to comment on the notice.

Commenters can write a letter to Mr. Douglas Hawkins AICP, Planning Manager at 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, 90630.  Locals can submit the questions and comments to the following email address: 33acreproject@ci.cypress.ca.us.

Cypress staff will also hold a meeting Wednesday where locals can comment in person on the potential environmental impacts of the project 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Los Alamitos Seventh Day Adventist church at 4921 Katella Avenue.

The Los Al City Council voted to oppose the project in 5-0 vote Thursday and told the city manager and legal counsel to take steps to protect the city

For more information, residents can call the Cypress community development department at 714-229-6720.
