'Time To Put Campaign Behind Us,' Says Assemblyman-Elect

After a brutal election season pitting two Republicans against each other, Travis Allen pledges to turn attention to creating jobs.

Editor's note: The following is a release from 72nd District Assemblyman-elect Travis Allen.

I want to express my deep gratitude to the voters of the 72nd district for having placed their trust in me to represent them in Sacramento.

I also want to thank the many volunteers and campaign workers that put their lives on hold and spent thousands of hours to push our campaign over the top. This victory could not have been possible without the help of the hundreds of supporters that made phone calls and knocked on doors.

Now, it is time to put the campaign behind us and concentrate on restoring California by rebuilding the economy and creating good paying jobs in California.

The 72nd Assembly District is diverse, energetic and an amazing place to live. I am honored to represent it in the state legislature.

Last time I checked Troy Edgar hasn't called to congratulate Travis Allen on his win. He has released on statement conceding defeat.
I guess there is a really big difference between the two candidates, and between newly minted Assemblyman Travis Allen and Los Alamitos Council Member Troy Edger; and I mean besides the $571,000+ that Edgar spent compared to Allen. Allen's a class act.

Troy Edgar, who lost in a landslide by 11 points, over a 13,000 vote differential (so far) did try explain the defeat and had a message for the winner in this OC Register piece: http://www.ocregister.com/news/allen-377357-edgar-tran.html.
There is also an excellent analysis here: http://ocpoliticsblog.com/troy-edgars-ad72-campaign-couldnt-win-his-home-town/. Already this week, Mr. Allen completed his incoming member orientation in Sacramento.

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
