Seal Beach Bridge Demolition to Finish This Weekend

Here's a list of freeway, on-ramp and street closures coming up this weekend, according to the Orange County Transportation Authority. 

BRIDGE DEMOLITION

Crews will complete the remaining demolition of the west half of the Seal Beach Boulevard bridge Friday and Saturday night, September 28 and 29.

Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, construction lights and demolition activity.  

FULL FREEWAY CLOSURES 

• Northbound I-405 Freeway from Valley View Street to Seal Beach Boulevard (Closed between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., Friday night, September 28 and Saturday night, Sept. 29)
  • DETOUR: From the northbound I-405, exit Valley View Street (turn left on Garden Grove Boulevard) then turn left on Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Road, turn right on Westminster Avenue, then turn right on Studebaker Road to access the northbound I-405 on-ramp OR continue on Studebaker Road and turn right on Willow Street to access the northbound I-605 on-ramp  
  • DETOUR: From the westbound SR-22, exit Valley View Street and turn right, turn left on Lampson Avenue, turn right on Seal Beach Boulevard, then turn left on Katella Avenue to access the northbound I-605 on-ramp OR continue on Katella and turn left on Palo Verde Avenue to access the northbound I-405 on-ramp

• Southbound I-405 Freeway from Seal Beach Boulevard to the Eastbound SR-22 (Closed Thursday, September 27 from 11:59 p.m. until 5 a.m. Friday, September 28; closed between 11:59 p.m. and 6 a.m., Friday night, September 28 and Saturday night, September 29) 
  •  DETOUR: From the southbound I-405 take the eastbound SR-22 freeway connector and exit Valley View Street, turn right on Garden Grove Boulevard, then turn left on Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Road to access the southbound I-405 on-ramp  

ROAD / LANE CLOSURES 

• Seal Beach Boulevard from North Gate Road to Old Ranch Parkway(Closed between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., Friday night, September 28 and Saturday night, September 29)
  • DETOUR: Motorists will be directed to use Valley View Street or Studebaker Road to bypass Seal Beach Boulevard

• Seal Beach Boulevard - Northbound Lane Closed from North Gate Road to Old Ranch Parkway (From 10 p.m., Sunday, September 30 until 5 a.m., Monday, October 1)
  • DETOUR: From Seal Beach Boulevard proceed south, turn left on Westminster Avenue, turn left on Bolsa Chica Road and continue north, turn left on Lampson Avenue and continue west to Seal Beach Boulevard

CONNECTOR CLOSURES   

• Eastbound SR-22 Connector to Northbound I-605 Freeway (Closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, September 27 and Sunday night, September 30)
  • DETOUR: From the eastbound SR-22 exit Studebaker Road and turn right, proceed north on Studebaker Rd. to access the northbound I-405 freeway on-ramp OR turn right on Willow Street to access the northbound I-605 freeway on-ramp

• Southbound I-605 Connector to Southbound I-405 Freeway (Closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, September 27 and Sunday night, September 30)
  • DETOUR: From the southbound I-605 freeway exit Katella Avenue and turn right, proceed east on Katella Avenue, then turn right on Valley View Street; turn left on Garden Grove Boulevard to access the eastbound SR-22 on-ramp OR continue south on Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Road to access the southbound I-405 on-ramp

• Southbound I-605 / Southbound I-405 Connector to Westbound SR-22 Freeway (Closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, September 27 and Sunday night, September 30)
  • DETOUR: From the southbound I-605 exit Willow Street and turn right, then turn left on Studebaker Road and continue south to access the westbound SR-22 freeway on-ramp
  • DETOUR: From the southbound I-405 take the Studebaker Road exit (stay in the right lane) and continue south to access the westbound SR-22 freeway on-ramp

• Southbound I-605 Connector to Northbound I-405 Freeway (Closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, September 27 and Sunday night, September 30)
  •  DETOUR: From the southbound I-605 exit Willow Street and turn right, then turn left on Palo Verde Avenue to access the northbound I-405 freeway on-ramp

• Northbound I-405 Connector to Northbound I-605 Freeway (Closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, September 27 and Sunday night, September 30)
  • DETOUR: From the northbound I-405 exit Valley View Street (turn left on Garden Grove Boulevard) and turn right on Valley View Street, continue north on Valley View, then turn left on Katella Avenue to access the northbound I-605 on-ramp
  • DETOUR: From the westbound SR-22 exit Valley View Street and turn right, continue north on Valley View Street then turn left on Katella Avenue to access the northbound I-605 on-ramp

RAMP CLOSURES

• Northbound I-405 Seal Beach Boulevard Off-Ramp (Closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Friday night, September 28 through Sunday night, September 30)
  • DETOUR: From the northbound I-405 exit Valley View Street (turn left on Garden Grove Boulevard), turn right on Valley View Street, then turn left on Lampson Avenue and continue west to Seal Beach Boulevard

• Northbound I-405 Seal Beach Boulevard On-Ramp (Closed from 10 p.m., Sunday, September 30 until 5 a.m., Monday, October 1)
  • DETOUR: From Seal Beach Boulevard proceed south, turn right on Westminster Avenue, then turn right on Studebaker Road to access the northbound I-405 on-ramp
