Rossmoor Board Has Winners Without Election

Three community services district board members were unopposed. The board says it saved $11,000 in the process.

The Rossmoor Community Services District board says it has saved itself $11,000 in election costs.

At its regular meeting Tuesday night, unopposed board members Michael Maynard, Ron Casey and Jeffrey T. Rips received "certificates in lieu of election."

"At the next election cycle in two years, the remaining two board seats currently held by Alfred Coletta and Bill Kahlert will be slated for candidates for the subsequent four-year term," said a press release issued by the district. "Election of new board officers will take place at the board’s Jan. 8, 2013, regular meeting, where President Coletta will also give his "State of the District" address.

District board meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Rush Park Auditorium, 3001 Blume Drive in Rossmoor. The meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m. Meetings are broadcast on LATV-3 and are available on demand at the district's website, at via YouTube Channel CSMPTV.
