Remodeling to Close Seal Beach Library For a Week

Construction crews will start updating the roof supports Monday, according to city staff.

Starting Monday The Mary Wilson Library will close for a weeklong remodeling project.

Work crews will update the roof supports of the longtime book depository at 707 Electric Ave, according to Sean Crumby, assistant city manager.

According to the county website, the library will be offline from April 8 through April 12.

Jas King Construction, which is handling the renovations, will try to minimize the effect of the construction on surrounding neighbors, Crumby said. He added that he didn’t want to comment on what the working hours would be.

The county of Orange runs the library, but the city, which voted on the update in spring 2012, maintains the property, Crumby said.
