Help Send Off Los Alamitos National Guard to Kuwait

The public is invited to join the service members Thursday morning. Nearly 150 soldiers will be conducting conduct security operations at U.S. military installations.

Nearly 150 soldiers with the California Army National Guard will fly out of California on Thursday morning in preparation for a yearlong deployment to Kuwait.

The 140th Chemical Company will depart Los Alamitos Army Airfield at  the Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, at 9 a.m. Thursday to participate in pre-deployment training at Camp Shelby, Miss., before arriving in Kuwait.

The public, family members and media are invited to join the service members and their families prior to the flight.

The 140th will conduct security operations on U.S. military installations during its overseas mission. The Joint Forces Training Base is at 11200 Lexington Drive.
