John Barnes, head coach of the Los Alamitos High School football team, will be honored for his 300th win by the City Council.
Here’s a run down of what else is going on at the Monday meeting:
--Officials will vote whether to apply for a $318,000 Orange County Transportation Authority grant to help with four street rehabilitation projects:
- Cerritos Avenue from Bloomfield Street to Los Vaqueros Circle
- Los Vaqueros Circle from south of Cerritos Avenue to the end of the street
- Humbolt Street from south of Cerritos Avenue to the end of street.
- Reagan Street from Catalina Street to Sausalito Street.
The entire project cost is estimated at about $636,000 and the grant, if approved, would fund for half of that.
-- A bus shelter on Katella Avenue between Lexington Drive and Saratoga could arrive in Los Al depending on a council vote.
-- Officials will receive an update on the West County Connector project from OCTA representatives and an update on the city's business and residential improvement program after six-months in progress.
--Councilmembers are also set to vote whether to appoint the interim finance director, Linda Magnuson, as city treasurer.
