Hearing Set in Seal Beach's Lawsuit Against Ruby's

A hearing has been scheduled for later this month in Seal Beach's lawsuit against Ruby’s Diner, according to a report in the Sun Newspaper.

The hearing which is aimed at encouraging the city and Ruby's to "consider an alternative to resolving the case before it goes to trial," is slated to take place on Oct. 28., the newspaper reported. The trial is scheduled for March 24.

Ruby's Diner, which first opened at the end of the pier in 1987, shut down in January. In the lawsuit, Ruby's Diner is accused of leaving $570,000 worth of maintenance and renovations undone.

Ruby's officials maintain the improvements were made.
