Former Mayor, Newcomer Win Los Al City Council Race
Businessman Dean Grose and real estate investor Richard Murphy garner the highest number of votes. Provisional ballots may still be uncounted.
A former mayor and a political newcomer are the winners in the race for Los Alamitos Council, according to the latest figures from the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
With ten of ten precincts reporting, Richard Murphy, a real estate investor and former accountant, and former Los Al mayor Dean Grose, a local businessman, won the most votes, clinching the two spots on the city dais.
Murphy had the highest number with 1,758 (33.7 percent), and Grose took the second-highest with 1,452 (27.9 percent).

Grose beat out current City Councilman Ken Stephens -- who received 1,217 (23.4 percent).
Realtor Demi Devaney garnered the lowest number of votes with 782 (15 percent.)
