405/22 Connector to Close for 55 Hours

The ramp, which serves 63,000 drivers daily, will shut down Friday night through Monday morning.

If you are one of the 63,000 daily drivers who takes the southbound 405 Freeway to the east 22 Freeway, get ready: The connector will be closed for 55 hours this weekend.

As part of the $277-million West County Connector project, the connector will close at 10 p.m. Friday and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday morning.

The closure will enable crews to conduct restriping to shift traffic to the newly completed bridge, which was revamped to make room for a new 22/405 carpool connector.

Additionally this weekend, the Valley View Street 22 Freeway ramps will be closed along with a portion of Garden Grove Boulevard near the freeway.

The connector will close again for 20 hours Aug. 17-18 for crews to demolish the old bridge.
