UPDATE: Woman Dies After Huntington Harbour Rescue

Jennifer Heather of Sunset Beach was initially revived after being pulled from the water, but later died.

A woman who was resuscitated after drowning Tuesday in Huntington Harbour later died at a nearby hospital, officials said Wednesday.

Jennifer Heather, 40, of Sunset Beach was reported as a possible drowning victim just before 3:15 p.m., Huntington Beach police Capt. Russell Reinhart said. Although she initially appeared dead, rescue workers were able to revive her and took her to Huntington Beach Hospital, Deputy Fire Marshal Bob Culhane said.

At 5:52 p.m., she was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted this week, according to the coroner's office.
