Update: Woman Facing 92 Counts of Fraud and Elder Abuse Seeks Bail Reduction Today

Marisa Robles is accused of bilking a Leisure World Man of $288,000.

A Norwalk caregiver accused of bilking an 81-year-old Leisure World man of nearly $300,000 was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a hearing to have her bail reduced, but the hearing was continued for the second time to June 10.

A bail reduction hearing scheduled for last week was cancelled and rescheduled for today, leaving 31-year-old Marisa Robles in the Orange County Jail since her arrest last month. Robles pleaded not guilty to 92 counts of fraud, theft, forgery and elderly abuse. She is currently held without bail at the Orange County Jail.

Robles had been hired to care for the Leisure World man in 2007, and she began writing checks to herself totaling $287,848 from the victim’s personal bank accounts without his consent shortly after she was hired, according to police.
