Scuba Diver Finds Gun, Fashionable Frenchwomen Go Door-to-Door

In the latest week in crime, Seal Beach Police dealt with reports of a stolen car, a creepy child photographer, pesky parking cones and parlez vous francais?

  • 01/09/2013 —11:41 — 1st Street and Ocean Avenue — A man told the Long Beach Police Department that he had found a gun while scuba diving. The man said he was at the 5th Street and Ocean Avenue in a black Crown Victoria, but LBPD were unable to locate the man.  The Seal Beach Police Department tried to locate him, but could not.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

  • 01/10/2013 — 8:02 p.m. — Bolsa Avenue —  An elderly man wearing a red sweater, beanie, a jumper, pants and hiking boots was allegedly taking pictures of kids, a caller said. The caller said the incident took place about 7:42 p.m.

  • 01/10/2013 — 1:53 p.m. 5th Street — Two females were reported going door to door asking if anyone speaks French. Both women were described between 20 and 24 years of age and wearing long boots up to the knee, pencil skirts and short suit jackets.  A man in a suit may have been with them. The caller thought it was suspicious. 

AUTO THEFT

  • 10/10/2013 — 4 p.m. — Main Street — Someone reported a dark gray Hyundai Sonata stolen. It was last seen about an hour earlier.

  • 01/10/2013 — 6:36 p.m. — Seal Beach and 405 Freeway — Five to six parking cones were reported in the emergency lane on Seal Beach Bridge, and the caller said he has driven over them several times.  Officer talked to a construction worker who said he or she will fix the situation.
