The California Highway Patrol is investigating a two 405 Freeway wrecks in the Seal Beach area from Saturday afternoon, including a crash involving a motorcycle in which the bike was left on the freeway but the rider was gone by the time police arrived.
According to the CHP, commuters reported a high-speed crash in which a motorcycle clipped a Lexus SUV and went down somewhere near the northbound 605/405 connector just after 3:30 p.m.. When authorities arrived on the scene, the rider was nowhere to be found, according to the CHP. The wreck blocked the carpool lane and tied up traffic until 4:30 p.m. Long Beach police have gone to the residence to which the bike is registered to.
Shortly after that wreck, authorities dealt with another crash nearby at the southbound 405/westbound 22 connector involving a 2-door gold Honda and a four-door Pontiac Grand Am at 4:41 p.m. The incident ended in a single arrest, but at this time, CHP officials have not released the details of the arrest or accident.
