'86 Toyota Pickup With Gardening Tools Stolen

Here are five odd, interesting or important crime calls listed by the Seal Beach Police Department recently.

VEHICLE ON THE BEACH

  • 10/26/2012 — 8:10 a.m. — Ocean Avenue and Neptune — A semi-truck was reported stuck on the beach.

GRAND THEFT

  • 10/26/2012 — 6:46 p.m. — Ironwood Avenue — At about 1:45 p.m. a contractor’s electrical saw was stolen from a caller’s front porch. The saw was worth about $800. The contractor did not desire a report, but the homeowner wanted it known to the Seal Beach Police Department.

STOLEN VEHICLE

  • 10/27/2012 11:04 a.m. — Oleander Street — A caller's gardener's vehicle, an '86 Toyota pickup truck with a black tool box mounted up high and gardening equipment in the bed, was reported stolen. The gardener was working in the backyard when he heard the engine start up. The vehicle was cream or tan-colored with a large amount of dings.  

RECKLESS DRIVER

  • 10/27/2012 — 4:37 p.m. — College Park Drive — About six trucks were driving in the dirt. Officers made contact with the drivers who said they would comply.

BRANDISH WEAPON

  • 10/27/2012 — 6:24 p.m. — 405 Freeway and Seal Beach Parkway — The driver of a silver F-150 cut off the caller, and the passenger showed the caller his gun. The caller, who was in a white Chevy truck, said the passenger did not point the gun directly at the caller. The weapon turned out to be an airsoft gun.
