Transient Steals, Breaks Phone of Woman Giving Food to Homeless

Also in local crime calls, someone stole a juicer from a garage on Ocean Avenue.

Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log. 

TRAFFIC COLLISION — NON-INJURY

  • 05/0213 — 7:27 a.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard — A silver Toyota hit a large rock in front of a bank. The driver, a woman in her 70s, left and then came back. She was described as wearing a tan jacket, a pink shirt and tan slacks.

POSSIBLE STOLEN PROPERTY

  • 05/02/2013 — 11:25 a.m. —Ocean Avenue — The caller sold property to a person, but the caller’s name was never taken off the deed. The buyer allegedly did not make payments, and the debt is now listed against the caller. The incident allegedly occurred two months earlier.

PETTY THEFT REPORT

  • 05/02/2013 — 1:10 p.m. — Ocean Avenue — Someone took a juicer from a resident’s garage. The caller didn’t know when it happened and said the residence had been under construction.

DISTURBANCE

  • 05/02/2013 — 3:50 pm. —  5th and Central  —A  man in his early 40s, wearing no shirt and gray/white striped shorts was standing on a lawn and yelling at drivers. The caller said he was trying to turn around on the street, and the man started yelling at him.

DISTURBING THE PEACE - TRANSIENT

  • 05/029 — 6:02 p.m. — Pacific Coast Highway and San Gabriel Rov —A woman grabbed a caller’s phone and broke it. The woman was described as a transient in her 40s. The caller said the woman was last seen on a blue bike with tape on the handles, and she was wearing a black halter top and black shorts. The caller delivers food to the homeless in the area.
