Boss Suspected of Cyber Spying on Female Employee

A Capo Beach man was released from jail today after allegedly using a company computer to secretly record a woman he hired to work for him.

A 41-year-old Capistrano Beach man, who is accused of using a computer to snoop on an Irvine woman working for him from home, posted bail and was released from Orange County Jail today.

Shane Chris Christensen was arrested Thursday night after the woman called Irvine police saying it appeared someone was remotely controlling the computer, which was provided by her employer, Irvine police Lt. Tom Allan said.

When the woman checked her computer files, she saw multiple unauthorized recordings of herself in them, Allen said.

Christensen, who owns a tire business, hired the woman, who responded to a Craigslist classified ad in mid-September, Allan said.

Police seized computer equipment and a 35 ounces of marijuana from Christensen's home, Allan said. Christensen, who is on probation for drug charges out of Los Angeles County, posted $25,000 bail and was released from jail this morning, Allan said.

Christensen was booked on suspicion of eavesdropping, videotaping without consent, computer fraud, and possession of marijuana for sale, Allan said.

Anyone with more information about the case was asked to call Detective
Vicky Hurtado at 949-724-7194.
