Suspect Tries to Rob Store at Gunpoint

Incident occurred at a business on the 10900 block of Los Alamitos Boulevard, according to the city police department.

The following is a list of crime calls from the Los Alamitos Police Department's weekly crime summary for Dec. 23 to Dec. 29.

ROBBERY

12/29/12 – 1:40 AM – 10900 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of someone brandishing a handgun and attempting to force a store clerk to retrieve cash from inside a business.  The clerk fell while outside the business and the suspect fled.

AUTO BURGLARY

12/23/12 – 2:31 PM – 5300 Katella Ave. – A report of a vehicle window smash but no loss of property sometime during the prior two hours.

12/23/12 – 8:31 PM – 10400 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of a vehicle door lock punched out and a loss of property from inside sometime during the afternoon or evening.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/SHOPLIFT

12/24/12 – 11:51 AM – 3400 Katella Ave. – A report of a person posing as a customer and taking products during the prior 10 minutes.

12/27/12 – 3:24 AM – 10600 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of two businesses with windows smashed open and a loss of property from inside during the prior few minutes.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

12/27/12 – 11:39 AM – 4000 Farquhar – A report of someone attempting to force open a laundry room door sometime overnight.

12/28/12 – 10:34 AM – 4300 Green – A report of an unauthorized person damaging a laundry room washer and dryer and taking coins from inside sometime overnight.

12/29/12 – 8:19 AM – 4300 Green – A report of an unauthorized person forcing open a laundry room and taking coins from the washer and dryer sometime overnight.

12/29/12 – 11:52 AM – 4300 Green – A report of an unauthorized person damaging a laundry room washer and dryer and taking coins from inside sometime during the prior two weeks.

12/29/12 – 2:49 PM – 4000 Farquhar – A report of an unauthorized person forcing open a laundry room and attempting to take coins from the washer and dryer sometime overnight.

DUI

12/24/12 – 4:46 PM – 10600 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of a non-injury traffic collision.  A 53-year-old Long Beach SUSPECT ARRESTED:  Male, 53 years, of Long Beach, for DUI.

THEFT

12/24/12 – 12:12 PM – 3800 Toland – A report of an unauthorized person entering two unlocked vehicles but no property was taken.

12/26/12 – 11:35 AM – 5100 Katella Ave. – A report of a theft of keys two days ago.

12/27/12 – 10:32 AM – 3500 Katella Ave. – A report of a sale of property made with a fraudulent cashier’s check and identification yesterday.

MISCELLANEOUS

12/23/12 – 9:44 AM – 4300 Howard (alley) – A report of a vehicle window broken sometime overnight.

12/27/12 – 4:46 PM – 3200 Katella Ave. – A report of a child custody order violation.

12/27/12 – 9:39 PM – Katella Ave. and Walnut – Traffic stop.  A 33-year-old Los Alamitos man was arrested for outstanding warrants. 

12/28/12 – 1:06 PM – 4000 Katella Ave. – A report of several recessed lighting units broken near the back of a building sometime overnight.

12/28/12 – 9:43 PM – 4900 Katella Ave. – A report of a disturbance at a business. A 53-year-old Chino Hills man was arrested for an outstanding warrant.  

12/29/12 – 9:15 PM – 10700 Walnut – A report of a suspicious person in the area. A 30-year-old Los Alamitos man was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics paraphernalia
