Smash and Grab Burglars Target Cerritos Avenue

Among the incidents that the Los Alamitos Police Department dealt with this week were auto burglaries and a caretaker accused of theft.

This week several burglaries and thefts occurred, including two vehicle burglaries and a number of thefts. Among the thefts that the Los Alamitos Police Department is looking into is a report that came in on August 24 from an elderly man on Ticonderoga Drive who believes his caretaker is stealing items from him. According to Captain Bruce McAlpine, however, the department has nothing to confirm the man’s claims.

“Detectives are still looking into the case and are investigating potential theft,” McAlpine said.
