Smash and Grab Burglaries Continue and Cash Stolen From Purse Left on Car

AUTO BURGLARY

• 9/8/11 – 5:20 PM – 10800 Bloomfield – A report of a vehicle window smash and the loss of a purse and belongings from inside sometime in the prior 30 minutes.

• 9/10/11 – 1:31 PM – 10800 Bloomfield – A report of two vehicles having their windows smashed, both with a loss of a purse and belongings from inside sometime in the prior 90 minutes.

ASSAULT

• 9/9/11 – 10:21 PM – 10800 Oak – A report of an assault with injury by an ex-spouse while in the presence of their child.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

• 9/9/11 – 3:35 PM – 10800 Oak – A report of a minor with suspicious material. A minor was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

THEFT

• 9/7/11 – 8:25 AM – 10800 Bloomfield – A report of an unauthorized person taking scrap metal from a business yard sometime overnight.
• 9/8/11 – 6:54 PM – 3800 Fenley – A report of a loss of sunglasses from an unlocked vehicle.
• 9/10/11 – 11:27 PM – 4400 Green – A report of a purse that was inadvertently left on top of a vehicle sometime in the prior hour.  It was later found down the street but with a loss of cash.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD/CHECK FRAUD

• 9/9/11 – 10:09 AM – 4400 Katella Ave. – A report of an unauthorized person cashing a check against a business account.

MISCELLANEOUS

• 9/8/11 – 6:30 PM – Katella Ave. and Oak – Pedestrian check.  A 62-year-old transient man was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
• 9/9/11 – 1:25 PM – 3800 Green – Death investigation at a residence.  It was determined to be from natural causes.
• 9/9/11 – 5:35 PM – Katella Ave. and Cara – Traffic stop.  A 30 year-old man from Norwalk was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
• 9/9/11 – 8:51 PM – 5000 Katella Ave. – Traffic stop.  A 23-year-old man from Hawaiian Gardens was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
