Small Plane Forced Landing on I-405 near Long Beach Airport

The California Highway Patrol was notified at 1:10 p.m. Saturday; expect delays if you're heading north.

No injuries were reported when a small aircraft landed on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach, near the Long Beach Airport Saturday.

the on-ramp and off-ramp to the northbound freeway at Cherry Avenue as well as the collector road until further notice due to the non-injury incident.

CHP Officer Monica Posada said the CHP was notified of the landing at 1:02 p.m.

KNX reported that the small aircraft was a banner-tow plane. An FAA official could not be reached for immediate comment.
